Can I Use Long Term Care
Insurance?
Many people have purchased long term care insurance (LTCI) polices in recent years. Most people think they need to be admitted to a nursing home to use their policy's coverage. However, many LTCI policies provide coverage for home care if an insured client needs hands on help with bathing, dressing, walking, or other kinds of personal care assistance.
At Berkshire Home Care, we have experienced home care professionals that can assist you to understand your coverage and possibly help you obtain the care you need to remain in your own home for the short term or forever!

NEWS & UPDATES

Message from the CEO:

It is with great pleasure that I announce the startup of our Home Visiting Nurse Practitioner Program. We can now deliver the full continuum of home care services from acute to chronic care right in your very own home. Please welcome nurse practitioner, Maryjane Scoco.  Maryjane Scoco is an Adult Nurse Practitioner with experience in home care, hospital based care, case management and geriatric care management.  She received her graduate degree from The Sage Colleges in Troy, NY .  She has been a registered nurse for over 30 years, specializing in the adult and geriatric population.  She is board certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center .  She is an active member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the Massachusetts Coalition of Nurse Practitioners.  She was a long time board member for the Pittsfield Counsel on Aging. Maryjane was born and raised in the Berkshires, with a long standing professional relationship with many local physicians and healthcare providers.  She continues to reside in the Berkshires with her husband. Berkshire Home Care's mission is to provide the highest quality home care to the community it serves.  The addition of the Home-Visiting Nurse Practitioner program speaks to our purpose--that all members of the Berkshire community have an equal opportunity to access the care they need at home, regardless of their means or insurance limitations. A Nurse Practitioner or "APRN" holds an advanced degree in nursing and is board certified in his or her practice.  In collaboration with a physician, an APRN can diagnose and treat illnesses as well as provide ongoing medical management.

 Our APRN seeks to:

-Work closely with your physician to provide seamless quality care.

-Improve your health and medical stability.

-Decrease lengthy emergency room visits and hospitalizations.

-Save caregiver time and prevent burnout. -Deliver affordable health care to where you want to receive it most--in your home!
